What is a English word frequency list for?
The most frequent words are the ones worth learning first. Count a English text you want to read and learn its top words before you start.
How does it find the words?
It uses the same word segmenter as the Heylangs lessons, with dictionary lists for languages written without spaces such as Chinese and Japanese.
Does it ignore capital letters and numbers?
Yes. Words are compared in lower case, and numbers and punctuation are not counted.
