LEGAL
Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of heylangs.com. By using the website you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use it. Last updated: 25 October 2026.
Using Heylangs
Heylangs is for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may read lessons without an account.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password safe and give us correct information. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age your country requires to agree to these terms). Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- copy, scrape or redistribute the lessons, word lists, audio or other content at scale, or sell or share files you export;
- try to break, overload or get around the limits or security of the site, or use bots to make requests;
- harass, threaten or scam other learners, share illegal content, or use voice calls or chats for anything other than practising a language;
- pretend to be someone else or give a misleading username.
Voice calls and community
Voice calls connect you with another learner. Be respectful: we may limit or close accounts that are reported for abuse. Calls and messages between learners are private and are not recorded by us, but you are responsible for what you say. Please do not share personal details you would not want a stranger to know.
AI, machine translation and accuracy
Some answers (AI explanations, chat replies, generated quizzes and machine translations of words or sentences) are produced automatically and can be wrong. Lessons and translations are for learning and are not professional translation, legal, or certification advice. We do not guarantee that every lesson is correct for every dialect, register, or regional variation of a language.
Premium, the mobile app and payments
Some features, such as unlimited translation, AI conversation practice, AI-generated content and pronunciation scoring, need a paid Heylangs PRO plan. In the mobile app the subscription is bought through the App Store or Google Play: it bills through Apple or Google under their own terms, renews automatically until cancelled, and can be managed or cancelled in your device's subscription settings. Where paid plans are offered on the website, payments are handled by our payment provider; plans that renew do so automatically at the end of each period until you cancel, and the terms, prices and any refund rights are shown at checkout. Free-account limits (such as daily word look-ups or AI messages) may change as the service evolves.
Content and ownership
The lessons, texts, audio, design, name and logo of Heylangs belong to Heylangs or its licensors. You may use them for your own study. Some lessons are based on third-party material (for example YouTube videos or news that has been rewritten); that material belongs to its owners. The words and notes you save are yours.
Links to the mobile app
This website links to the Heylangs app on the App Store and Google Play. Downloading and using the app is governed by the separate terms and privacy notice presented in the app and by Apple's / Google's respective platform terms.
Third-party services
The site uses services from other companies (for example Google for translation and sign-in, YouTube for videos, an AI provider for answers, and a payment provider for web payments). Their terms and privacy policies apply to what they provide. See our Privacy Policy for what is shared with them.
Availability and changes
We may add, change, or remove lessons, tools, or features at any time, and we cannot promise the site will always be available or error-free. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Limitation of liability
Heylangs is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Heylangs is not responsible for indirect or incidental damages that come from using the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Ending your account
You can stop using Heylangs at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to [email protected]. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel or refund a subscription, so cancel a paid plan first if you do not want it to renew.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make an important change we will tell you in the service. Using Heylangs after a change means you accept the new terms.
