After work, Mai always made tea. She used her mother's old blue cup. The tea was hot and sweet.

She sat by the window. Outside, the sky was dark orange. Cars moved slowly on the street.

Mai's day was long and tiring. Her boss was angry two times. Her feet hurt from standing.

But the tea made her feel calm. She held the warm cup with both hands. She breathed slowly.

Her cat jumped onto her lap. Mai smiled and drank the last of her tea. The day finally felt finished.
